Comparing pictures /superimposition
To compare two pictures/images, right-click one of them, then select the Compare with…option from the menu and click the second picture to compare. A window will open asking if you want to compare pictures or superimpose them. The button from the tab Pictures/X-ray images may also be used for this purpose:
If you choose the option, the application will ask you to insert two points in both pictures/images to be able to match the settings (rotation, shift and zoom-in) so that these two points overlap. Once this option is selected, the first point can be inserted in one of the pictures/images; the same can be done in the second picture/image in the panel on the left or by pressing the key Enter. Pictures/images will switch automatically.
When all four points are inserted, the button becomes active. Once clicked, the pictures/images will overlap with one another and an orange line will be drawn between the two points.
Comparing
If you choose the option, both pictures/images will be displayed side by side, and marking points and superimposition options will be hidden.
Base picture/image (at the bottom) remains still, while the compared picture/image (in blue) can be dragged anywhere using the mouse. Options regarding the compared picture/image are listed in the table below:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Transparency | Changes the degree of transparency of the compared picture/image |
Rotation | Allows for (slight) rotation of the picture/image around its axis |
Zoom | Zooms in/out the compared picture/image in relation to the base one |
This function, apart from comparing pictures/images, can be used to superimpose them (the transparency slider can be used for this purpose).
The comparison can be saved in the gallery as a new picture/image by clicking the button image.
