Creating new database


For the Ortodoncja 8 application to work, all patients are entered into a special database. For safety reasons, it must be pre-configured, meaning that a new user-doctor file will be created with an individual password; furthermore, it will be possible to configure automatic backups.

The first step is to create a new user. To this end, the user’s full name, individual name (login) and password (with confirmation) must be provided. Other fields are optional.

Username will be created automatically based on the first name and last name initials. If the proposed name is not appropriate, it can be changed.

Such a new database is administered by a doctor who has been granted administrator privileges.

The correct password must meet the following requirements:

  • have minimum 8 characters,
  • contain at least one capital letter,
  • contain at least one special character (e.g.! @ # $ % ^ & * ).

During the next stage, creating a full database backup can be set up automatically. This step can be omitted, but this is not recommended.

To select location in which to save the backup copy of the database, click , and then specify destination folder.

The company Ortobajt recommends backing up to an external USB drive, specially purchased for this purpose.

The backup reminder frequency is selected from the drop-down list:

The next step is to provide information about medical facility where the application will be used. It is optional and can be omitted, but it is recommended to enter at least the name of the facility.

After going through the wizard, press the button ) – in a while the base will be created and the login window will be displayed where data from previously created doctor file should be entered.
